Weekend

This is a recent post from ex-GlosGrapevine editor Paul's blog. It's a really well written and insightful blog, straying between technology news and daily university life - Al.
What a weekend - and it isn't even over yet!

After having a relaxed Friday night (the night before was Tom's birthday and was anything but relaxed!) watching the latest episode of Lost from America as well as other TV shows such as QI, the weekend began. This was excellent news because friends from my old school came to visit. Scott was found sitting in the Subway sandwich shop in Victoria coach station. When the hunt for Theresa and Rachel started, Carly and Joe were spotted across the street before the girls were found moments later. Later, Nafisa and Pete would join us.

The Saturday was spend touring London. Oxford Street was visited (again!) and we saw the slides at the Tate Modern (see the pictures below). Wanting a bit of culture, Rachel and I attempted to look at the rest of what was on offer at the Tate, but we were followed by one person who's critical assessment of the art was limited to "this is sh**" and a couple of people who were talking loud enough to get disapproving looks from the members of the public who were avoiding the slides. Never mind, I guess Pizza Hut appealed more to these people, which is exactly where we went, and were joined by Adam, Andy, Phil, Gabi and Laura.

After our late meal at Leicester Square, we headed back to Tottenham Court Road for a drink in the court, before those of us who hadn't fallen asleep went back to Tom's room to chill out until gone 3 am.

Today, after getting up and disinfecting the mess of my flatmates (I may not be responsible for most of the mess in the kitchen but I certainly don't want to live with it!) I joined Tom again for a rather delicious lunch at The Landmark Hotel, courtesy of his family - complimentary champagne included!

Now, I'm taking a break from my differential equations (I've got until Tuesday anyway!) and writing this blog post. Who knows what the week has in store for me!
