Help with Bullying

hi kevinjones109,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having some trouble. The first step, and often the hardest step, to take is telling someone that you can trust - a friend, a relative, a teacher or youth worker-someone who can take the time to listen to you and help you work a way out of the situation. Thanks for using this site to tell us about your problem.

If you wish to talk to someone from Grapevine in person then check out the title page on this site (what is Grapevine?)or you could call Youthline which is a free and confidential telephone service where you can talk to other young people (16-25) about what you're experiencing. Check out the side bar on the bottom left of this page for details.

Check out the bullying tag on the lefthand side of this page for more advice and you'll also find information in the contacts tag for more links, numbers and local places to go that can help.

It's important that you remember that bullying is wrong and no one deserves it or should put up with it. It's also important that you are able to talk about it with someone. If you find that none of the above options are possible at the moment please continue to contact this forum. I hope things start to get better soon.

hi im being bullied at

hi im being bullied at school and nothings being done about it i no longer wish to go what should i do?

Xem, follow the advice above

Xem, follow the advice above for a start, and remember that you are not as powerless as you might think you are. In extremis, you can bypass all the 'structures' that are supposed to tackle bullying, and just go to the police, like I should have done when the deputy headmaster of my high school clouted me on the head, not as part of some disciplinary procedure, but simply because the mad old duffer had lost his temper. When the police are called in, it gets very hard for teachers to ignore bullying. Downside is that nowadays, some minors make up or exaggerate claims of bullying, by other children or even teachers. A softer option, and maybe not one which would be endorsed by this site, is to out the bullies, with posters, or through the internet. That is also open to abuse, and shouldn't be undertaken until other options have been explored. If, however, teachers are faced with the prospect of bad publicity for their school, that should encourage them to take complaints seriously...

'So if you care to find me, look to the western sky...'
